About Me
As a lifelong resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie and a proud graduate of Spackenkill Schools, I’m running for Dutchess County Legislature to represent the community where I grew up and am invested in.
I’m the daughter of Indian immigrants who built a respected medical practice in Dutchess County—instilling in me a deep respect for service, hard work, and the belief that everyone deserves access to quality health care and a supportive community. Their legacy inspired me to give back, and I’ve spent my life doing just that.
Over the years, I’ve been actively involved at every level of our community:
At the school level, as President of the Spackenkill PTSA and organizer of numerous local events.
At the county level, serving on the Dutchess County Equity Board and volunteering with the Dutchess County Medical Reserve Corps.
In the community, supporting causes like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and animal rescue efforts.
Professionally, I bring over 20 years of experience as an attorney representing vulnerable individuals and families—standing beside people during some of their most challenging times. Personally, I’m a devoted mother and animal advocate. My family and I have fostered hundreds of animals over the years, and today we share our home with 12 rescue pets. It’s just one way we try to live out our values of compassion and care.
I’m running to make a meaningful difference in my community and to serve others. Whether you're a lifelong resident or new to Dutchess County, I believe we all want the same things: fairness, opportunity, and a safe place to call home.
With your support, I will bring principled, experienced, and compassionate leadership to District 5.
I’d be honored to earn your trust—and your vote.
